great positive feedback at CLT
This year we had a LiMux booth at the Chemnitzer Linux Tage for the first time. The CLT are an open source community event taking place in Chemnitz every year. At the beginning we didn’t know what will happen this weekend. But now, after two days of answering questions and discussing different items we are sure that this was a great success for the LiMux project. The question asked very often was what the current status of the project is. There’s a lot to answer to this question and we talked about many results and insights gained so far in LiMux, we talked about challenges and problems to solve in the future. And the feedback by the interested people was great. Many appreciated that and wished all the best for the futere. The FAI/GOsa solution was in the center of the interest, but our WollMux and the awarded e-Learning solution were also in great demand.
Another great thing was the possibility to see and talk to many open source projects. The OpenOffice.org team had their booth beside us, KDE was straight ahead and Thomas Lange, the FAI maintainer reminded us to send him some of our patches. OK, we’ll do it 
After all we think that we mustn’t hide our results, although we won’t finish LiMux now or in near future. The are achievements and we have reached much more than we avow now.

Hallo Florian,
ich habe von deinem Vortrag in Chemnitz gehört (selbst war ich in einem parallel stattfindenden Vortrag über GnuEdu IIRC). Was mich in diesem Zusammenhang interessiert, ist folgendes:
In München wurde offenbar der Importfilter von Openoffice.org anhand mehrerer Tausend W0rd-Dokumente getestet und teilweise vor Ort verbessert.
Gibt es eine Adresse, an die ich weitere Beispieldokumente senden kann, deren Import gravierende Abweichungen vom erwünschten Ergebnis aufweist? Vielleicht kannst du verstehen, dass ich skrupel habe, halboffizielle Dokumente (z.B. aus dem Bildungsbereich) an einen Bugreport anzuhängen.
Wenn meine Information richtig ist, gibt es innerhalb des LiMuX-Projektes ein eigenes Team zur Optimierung des Importfilters.

deine Info ist zur Hälfte richtig
Ja, bei uns werden jede Menge Word97/2000 Vorlagen (!) verwendet. Die darauf basierenden Dateien interessieren uns zumeist nicht, da OOo sie ja zumindest lesen kann, wenn auch mit Schwächen. Bei uns ist die Fragestellung andersherum interessant: wie erzeuge ich eine ODT-Vorlage, deren Dokumente sich wiederum zur Crossbearbeitung im .doc Format speichern lassen und beim Öffnen mit Microsoft Word möglichst wenig Abweichungen bei Inhalt (problemlos) und Layout zeigen.
Unsere Erfahrungen mit dieser Problematik dokumentieren wir in unserem internen Wiki in einem “Leitfaden zum Dateiaustausch”, d.h. dort werden typische Fallstricke und ggf. deren Umgehung gesammelt. Ich bin seit einem Jahr dran den endlich ins OOo-Wiki zu überführen, scheitere nur schlicht und einfach an den begrenzten Ressourcen, die unglücklicherweise auch noch krank werden.
Den Importfilter verbessern wir nur indirekt durch Nutzerfeedback und ggf. Bugreports, ein eigenes Team dafür haben wir nicht. Eine entsprechende E-Mailadresse habe ich auch nicht zur Verfügung…
