Ich bin ja seit einiger Zeit beim Browsergame “Die Stämme” aktiv, anfangs auf Welt 8, zu Spitzenzeiten gleichzeitig noch auf Welt 10 und 11, und mittlerweile aus Zeit und Spaßgründen nur noch auf Welt 8. Dort aber einigermaßen erfolgreich, siehe hier *g*

Nachdem sich mein Stamm Mitte Februar (während meines Urlaubs!) aufgelöst hatte und ich dadurch ein leichtes Ziel für gefräsige Nachbarn wurde, konnte ich mich durch meinen Beitritt zu einem neuen, größeren Stamm wieder richtig gut erholen. Gut, den gibt’s auch nicht mehr, aber das hat andere Gründe.

Jetzt bin ich selbst in der Lage, mir mal den einen oder anderen Nachbarn zu holen, was diese wiederum (wen wundert’s) gar nicht lustig finden. Hier mal ein Zitat aus einer privaten Nachricht:

Da geht’s ja echt zur Sache *g*

There have been much to do during the last weeks and my blog was quite calm. Sorry, but now the easter holidays begin and the upcoming weeks should be more relaxing

Yesterday I got the confirmation that LiMux will be on Linuxday 2007 in Berlin (may 30 - june 2). Beside one or more talks there’ll be a LiMux booth for the first time at Europeans biggest Open Source event. I’ll do the planning soon.

Another task for the next week is to prepare my presentation for the Open Source meeting in Lisbon on april 19th. I can talk about 30 minutes and now I’m considering which statements should be stressed in my talk. We’ll see…

Last thursday we have been visited by a delegation from the municipality of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. They are also doing a migration to Open Source software and wanted to exchange information and experiences with us. I wish them all the best for their project

On may 30th we are planning to arrange another LiMux information day for our employees and we’re hoping to publish some really exciting news then… stay tuned!

Irgendwas ist dieses Jahr anders als sonst. Bisher war ich einmal, maximal zweimal über die Wintermonate wirklich krank - dieses Jahr erhole ich mich gerade von meiner fünftern (!) schlimmen Erkältung bzw. grippalem Infekt. Seit Anfang November bin ich jetzt in steter Regelmäßigkeit durch Halsweh, Husten, Schnupfen, verstopfte Nebenhöhlen, Fieber, Kopfweh und allen weiteren Begleiterscheinungen ständig gehandicapt.

Mir tut der milde Winter offensichtlich gar nicht gut

This year we had a LiMux booth at the Chemnitzer Linux Tage for the first time. The CLT are an open source community event taking place in Chemnitz every year. At the beginning we didn’t know what will happen this weekend. But now, after two days of answering questions and discussing different items we are sure that this was a great success for the LiMux project. The question asked very often was what the current status of the project is. There’s a lot to answer to this question and we talked about many results and insights gained so far in LiMux, we talked about challenges and problems to solve in the future. And the feedback by the interested people was great. Many appreciated that and wished all the best for the futere. The FAI/GOsa solution was in the center of the interest, but our WollMux and the awarded e-Learning solution were also in great demand.

Another great thing was the possibility to see and talk to many open source projects. The OpenOffice.org team had their booth beside us, KDE was straight ahead and Thomas Lange, the FAI maintainer reminded us to send him some of our patches. OK, we’ll do it

After all we think that we mustn’t hide our results, although we won’t finish LiMux now or in near future. The are achievements and we have reached much more than we avow now.

Today me on two colleagues start our three day trip to Chemnitz to attend the Chemnitzer Linux Days 2007. We will present our LiMux project in the Linux Live area and I’m going to give a presentation on sunday noon.
